The panel session began with a burst of energy as Kiara Kaur, an extraordinary 8-year-old advocate for the Flourishing Development Goals (FDGs) and accomplished author, took the stage. Her presence filled the room with positivity and inspiration, captivating everyone in attendance. Kiara’s remarkable journey began at the age of 4 when she set a world record as the youngest nonstop book reader, showcasing her unparalleled determination and thirst for knowledge. By 5, she became the youngest TEDx speaker, delivering a talk that revealed wisdom far beyond her years. At 7, she stepped onto the global stage, speaking at COP28 and COY18, where she passionately called for climate action and flourishing development.
Now, at 8 years old, Kiara has added another achievement to her growing list of accomplishments: she became the youngest speaker at the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in 2024. Her unrelenting commitment to advocating for the FDGs and her ability to inspire audiences of all ages have solidified her role as a beacon of hope and a voice for transformative change.
Following her panel at COP16, Kiara and I had the opportunity to engage in a thought-provoking conversation about the future. Her insights were as sharp as they were inspiring, and her passion for creating a flourishing world was evident in every word she spoke. Moved by her vision, I, as President of IASC, extended an invitation for her to join the next World Changers Summit.
