Sir Professor Gabriele Pao-Pei Andreoli, President of the Institute for Advance Studies and Cooperation (IASC), is honored to announce his participation as an official delegate at the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). The conference will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 2 to December 13, 2024.
As a pivotal global platform, UNCCD COP16 will address critical challenges surrounding land degradation, drought resilience, and sustainable land management. The event emphasizes a people-centered approach to fostering land restoration and combating desertification, vital for achieving long-term sustainability and resilience in the face of environmental crises.
The UNCCD remains one of the three principal Rio Conventions, alongside those dedicated to climate change and biodiversity. By participating in COP16, Sir Prof. Andreoli reaffirms his commitment to advancing collaborative global action and innovative solutions for environmental stewardship.
